Handlebar Stems
There are two types of handlebar stems, 'quill' and 'a-head'. The quill stem is more traditionaly used on older bikes or cycles at the lower end of the market. They fit internaly into the fork steerer and can be adjusted in height by releasing the bolt at the top. A-head stems are more commonly used now and fit externaly around the fork steerer, these are not generally adjustable in height. Both types of stem come in two diameter sizes, 22.2mm or 25.4 (classed 1" and 1 1/8"). |
